New York, - May 16, 2007. It was a tall order for this year's
29th Annual American Image Awards - Andre Leon Talley, Kimora
Lee Simmons and Jay Manuel commanded the red carpet and the
evening, which benefited the Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA).
The event, presented by the American Apparel & Footwear
Association (AAFA), brought an element of fabulosity to the
Grand Hyatt Hotel, with some of the hottest names in fashion
attending the gala.
The American Image Awards is held each year to recognize
individuals and corporations whose achievements, charitable
activities and records of outstanding service set industry
standards. This year's event attracted over 650 guests and
raised over $930,000 for the BGCA and the AAFA Educational
