“Home Is Where The Heart Is”

A Designer Showhouse to Benefit the American Heart Association

to open April 2015

The American Heart Association is happy to announce that the second “Home Is Where The Heart Is” Designer Showhouse will open with a Gala Preview Cocktail Party on Thursday, April 16, 2015 and will be open to the public for six weeks until Sunday, May 31st, 2015.  “Home Is Where The Heart Is” will take place in a classic English Regency manor house located in Mill Neck, New York.  Proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association, the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke.

“Home Is Where The Heart Is”, in its second year, will be a showcase for America’s premier design talent.  Approximately 20 top interior designers and landscape designers from the New York Metropolitan Area will turn a classic English Regency manor house with magnificent rooms and exquisite period details into a decorating masterpiece.  The house is located at 393 Oyster Bay Road, Mill Neck, New York and has been generously provided by The Christopher D. Smithers Foundation.

NYC&G (New York Cottages & Gardens) is the 2015 Media Sponsor.  NBC TV’s Open House is the 2015 Television Sponsor. Country Carpet, Duralee, Kravet, Inc. and Robert Allen are the 2015 Design Sponsors.  American Heart Association Board Member and President of Kim E. Courtney Interiors Kim Radovich is the 2015 Design Chair.  Tyler Wisler from HGTV’s “Design Star” is the 2015 Honorary Showhouse Chair.

“The American Heart Association is extremely excited to, once again, present the Designer Showhouse to the Long Island community,” states Kathy Munsch, Regional Vice President of the American Heart Association.  “A special thanks to all of the designers who dedicate their time and talents to make this event the success that it is.”

“Home Is Where The Heart Is” will open with a Gala Preview Cocktail Party on Thursday, April 16, 2014 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and will be open to the public from Friday, April 17, 2013 to Sunday, May 31, 2015.  Showhouse hours will be as follows:  Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:00am to 4:00pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00am to 5:00pm.  The Showhouse will be closed on Mondays.  Tickets to the Gala are $175 each.  Admission to the Showhouse is $35 per person or $20 per person when purchased in groups of 20 or more.  There will be no admission to the Showhouse 30 minutes before closing.  Children under 6, strollers and pets are not admitted into the Showhouse.
