crowd of
design
aficionados.
The
panel
discussion,
Design
Across
Disciplines,
was the
highlight
of this
year’s
market
that
included
design
industry
leaders,
Blair
Gordon,
owner of
Blair
Gordon
Design;
Windsor
Smith,
a West
Coast
interior
designer
and
founder
of
Windsor
Smith
Home
Collection;
interior
architect
Lauren
Rottet,
founder
of
Rottet
Studio
and
acclaimed
design
and
cultural
institution
photographer
Scott
Frances.
Bill
Stubbs,
AD 100
interior
designer,
author
and
esteemed
host of
the Emmy
nominated
TV
series,
Moment
of
Luxury,
presented
a
special
keynote
presentation
entitled
“More
Fun More
Business.”
Stubbs
spoke to
the
crowd on
how to
grow
their
business
in
alignment
with
their
passion.
The day
concluded
with
Charles
S. Cohen,
President
and

Decorative

Houston,
presentation
of the
coveted
Stars of
Design
awards
and the
newly
inaugurated
Stars on
the Rise
awards.
This
year
marks

anniversary

awards

This
year, to
recognize
and
honor
the
promising
talent
of young
designers
that

category
of
awards,
“Stars
on the
Rise”
was
added.
Stars of
Design
and the
2012
inaugural
Stars on
the Rise
winners
were
selected
by a
noteworthy
panel
comprised
of
creative
icons
who are
experts
in the
fields
of
interiors,
architecture,
art and
design.
The
distinguished
panel of
judges
and
contributors
includes
Richard
Holley,
Timothy
Adcock,
Craig
Minor,
Natalye
Appel,
Dixie
Friend
Gay,
Paul
Hester,
and
Guy
Jackson.
Following
the
awards
ceremony,
an
opening
reception
was held
in honor
of famed
photographer,
Scott
Frances.
