Award-Winning Actors Jane Alexander and Lili Taylor to Emcee

WHAT:  The National Audubon Society, one of the world’s largest and respected conservation organizations, will honor two exceptional conservationists for their environmental leadership and lifetime commitment to the environment at the annual Audubon Gala. The event will take place at Gotham Hall in New York City Wednesday March 1, 2017. Audubon will honor Frances Beinecke, former president of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), as a recipient of the prestigious Audubon Medal, recognizing her for her leadership in finding solutions to some of the biggest environmental challenges of our time. Nathaniel P. Reed will receive the annually awarded $100,000 Lufkin Prize for Environmental Leadership, one of the largest awards in environmental recognition. Reed is one of Florida’s greatest conservation champions, having helped create environmental protections that remain instrumental in shielding Florida’s natural resources from today’s threats. The Lufkin Prize was established by Dan Lufkin’s family in honor of his love and dedication to supporting conservation and environmental causes.
