STAMFORD, CT - April 2009

Stamford Hospital named the members of the 2009 Planning and Executive Committee for the 14th annual Hope in Motion Walk, Run & Ride event benefiting the Bennett Cancer Center.  Members of the all-volunteer Committee include the following:

Event Chairman

Nick Risom, Chairman, A member of the Stamford Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, Mr. Risom has been involved with the Stamford Hospital Foundation for over ten years. He is a former team leader, Pacesetter, Fundraising Committee Chair and now event Chair. He and his committee are passionate about supporting the Bennett Cancer Center. Mr. Risom is a resident of New Canaan and is a Senior Vice President at Tanenbaum-Harbor Holdings Co., a New York based risk management and insurance brokerage firm.

Talent and Recruiting

Dorothy Brill, Committee Chair.  Ms. Brill is a resident of Stamford and is the Vice President of Human Resources at Silver Point Capital, a credit-focused private investment firm headquartered in Greenwich.

Communications and Marketing

Andrew Merrill, Committee Co-Chair.  A member of Stamford Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, Mr. Merrill is a resident of Rowayton and the US CEO of Finsbury Group, a leading strategic financial communications firm with offices in New York and London.

Kim DePra., Committee Co-Chair. Ms. DePra is a resident of Redding and is the Director of Marketing for The Ashforth Company, a diversified commercial real estate firm based in Stamford. Ashforth owns, develops, and invests in assets on the East and West Coasts, and provides third party services including asset and property management, and general contracting and construction management.  The Ashforth Company is the Founding and Presenting Sponsor of the 2009 Hope in Motion Walk, Run & Ride event.

Kristen Kish, Co-Chair.  Ms. Kish is a resident of Norwalk and is the Executive Director, Client Marketing and Communications for Synapse Group, Inc. a division of Time, Inc. based in Stamford.

Fundraising

Lars Noble, Committee Chair. A member of Stamford Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, Mr. Noble is a resident of Darien and is a Managing Director in the New York office of DHR International, a leading, privately held provider of executive search solutions with more than 50 wholly-owned offices spanning the globe.

Alex Tuff.  Mr. Tuff is a resident of New Canaan and is a Director in the Syndicated Loan Group at CIT, For over 100 years, CIT has provided lending, leasing & advisory services to small and middle market businesses.  Mr. Tuff is also a member of Stamford Hospital Foundation Board of Directors

Ned Burns, Team Development and Chairman Ride Committee.  Mr. Burns is a resident of New Canaan and is a Senior Vice President of CB Richard Ellis, the global leader in commercial real estate services.

Mark Chapman, Chairman Run Committee. Mr. Chapman recently joined the Hope in Motion team. He owns Kilometers, a running store in Ridgefield. He has been a competitive runner and has organized local runs and brought teams to national running events.

Commenting on the 2009 Committee Mr. Risom said, “We are very fortunate to once again have the commitment of a strong group of community leaders to support Hope in Motion.  Along with Stamford Hospital and The Bennett Cancer Center, I want to thank them for their tireless efforts to ensure that this year’s event is a huge success.”

The 2009 Hope in Motion Walk, Run & Ride event will be held on Sunday, June 7 beginning in Columbus Park in Stamford, Connecticut.  Interested participants and potential donors and sponsors to Hope in Motion can access additional information on the 2009 Walk, Run & Ride by calling (203) 276-5920 or visiting our event website at www.hope-in-motion.org.
