the sale of art by artist, Shreya Mehta to benefit the
education
of girls in India pported by Commit2Change (“C2C”) and The
Satya Foundation |
The event kicked off
the campaign and raised 25% of the Crowdrise campaign |
goal of “10 Teachers
+ 100 Educated Girls” for 2015 |

Shreya Mehta:
Formally trained in charcoal, paint, and glass mediums,
Shreya Mehta has been creating vibrant and powerful artwork
in New York for the past 15 years. "The Spirit of Shakti,"
exhibition at the gala, depicts the challenges women face at
the crossroads of Eastern & Western cultures. Mehta says,
"There is a Goddess in every woman, an unexplainable
strength that comes from within. This is the essence of what
I am trying to portray through my works."
