New York, May 18th, 2007. The American-Scandinavian Foundation
held it 's Annual Gala Dinner at The Pierre Hotel in the
presence of H.E. Tarja Halonen, President of Finland. H.E. Jan
Eliasson, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Darfur,
and Jan Egeland, Special Advisor to the UN Secretary-General
for Conflict Resolution, were honored.
The evening celebrated the close bonds that exist between the
U.S. and Finland on the occasion of the 90th Anniversary of
Finland's Independence. President Halonen was introduced by
The Honorable Henry A. Kissinger.
Proceeds benefit The American-Scandinavian Foundation's
programs of educational and cultural exchange. |
