On Sunday, May 19, 2019 Joseph Clapsaddle & Associates hosted its
inaugural production of the American Icon Awards at the
legendary Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Design-driven Swiss watchmaker Rado joined them at the
event, which honored Hollywood icon Al Pacino, music
industry icon Quincy Jones, and sports icon Evander
Holyfield with additional recognition to humanitarians
Jonathan D. Fischer and Christine Avanti-Fischer and the
sports philanthropy award going to NFL veteran, Devon Still.
Pacino received this honor from his long-time friend, Robert
DeNiro, who presented him with a Rado HyperChrome Skeleton
Automatic Chronograph for the Icon Award. DeNiro has
appeared with him in the epic films ‘Heat’, ‘The Godfather,
Part II’, ‘Righteous Kill’ as well as the upcoming Netflix
release, ‘The Irishman’. Official Chair of the event and
director of ‘The Irishman’, Martin Scorsese, also celebrated
Pacino and other honorees via a video tribute.
Naomi Campbell honored Quincy Jones at the Gala. Boxing legend, Evander
Holyfield received the award and Rado watch from Laila Ali,
daughter of Muhammad Ali, while David Foster presented the
Innovative Philanthropy Award to Jonathan D. Fischer and
Christine Avanti-Fischer and NFL Veteran Devon Still was
honored by George Martin.
All honorees were presented with a signature Rado watch to
commemorate the moment. Al Pacino received a HyperChrome
Skeleton Automatic Chronograph, a limited-edition watch made
in the brand’s signature high-tech ceramic.
Rado also donated the same model bestowed to Al Pacino for the Awards’
live charity auction, which benefitted St. Jude Children’s
Hospital as well as other nonprofit organizations.
The watch’s box was signed by VIP attendees including Al
Pacino himself, Evander Holyfield, Devon Still, Jackie Cruz,
Oscar de la Hoya, Peter Facinelli, Matteo Bocelli and more,
to celebrate the special evening. The gala was additionally
highlighted by amazing live musical performances by Robin
Thicke, Jackie Cruz (Orange is the New Black), Quincy Jones’
protégé, Sheléa, Pia Toscano, Matteo Bocelli, son of music
legend, Andrea Bocelli and a comedic set by Sebastian
Maniscalco.
