Designers for Darfur (DFD) would like to thank you all for
attending this evening’s event - Rip the Runway for Darfur,
your voice, support, and generosity are invaluable to the
suffering people of Darfur.
As many of you are aware, the crisis in Darfur is far from
over. Therefore, it is our duty to keep the spotlight on this
region and the heat on the powers-that-be to do more to end
the crisis.
In order to assure that this crisis remains in the forefront
of our collective consciousness, DFD will be implementing the
following important events and initiatives (with more to be
added)
-
September 2007 - DFD T-Shirt Design Competition
-
October 2007 - DFD sponsored Letter writing campaign
to Congress and the United Nations
-
November 2007 - DFD Private Screening of
Darfur Documentary
-
December 2007 - Official Launch of DFD Website and Blog
-
February 2008 - Designers & Artists for Darfur
(in connection with the Deitch Project)
-
March 2008 - Designers for Darfur Runway Presentation.

In the meantime, you can help to end the genocide by taking
small steps that can make a big difference for the people of
Darfur. By lobbying your members of Congress, educating
others, planning a local event, and generating coverage in the
media about the crisis, you will help to build the political
power needed to end this conflict. Please TAKE ACTION!!!
(LOBBY CONGRESS, EDUCATE OTHERS, PLAN EVENTS, GENERATE MEDIA
COVERAGE)
