The Mandarin Oriental Hotel was the beautiful setting for the
Little Flower Children Luncheon honoring Mara Urshel, owner
and president of Kleinfeld’s, New York . The Honorary Chair,
Emmy Award winning actress Susan Lucci and philanthropist and
Event Chair Jane Pontarelli were present as well as Tracy
Silverman Event Co-Chair.
Since the beginning of 2007 Little Flower Children and Family
Services of New York have helped 110 children return to their
families, managed the successful adoption of 46 children into
new families, cared for 124 children on a 24/7 basis in the
Residential Treatment Center, assisted 19 young adults to
begin life on their own, helped 127 adults with developmental
disabilities to lead more rewarding lives.
The luncheon was a success with many of Manhattan ’s society
coming out to show their support for this most deserving
cause. One of the most touching speeches was made by a teenage
girl who was just adopted by a family thanks to the wonderful
work accomplished by Little Flower Children and Family
Services.
Little Flower has been helping children and family in crisis
for more than 75 years..this is the 4th year that Jane has
chaired this event and she is the president of the "woman's
auxiliary of Little Flower children Services" it is the
largest social welfare agency in New York state. The event was
filmed by the learning channel (TLC) and
will be telecast in October. |
