Billy Crystal and Dara Torres Added to Field For
19th Annual Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity
Tennis Classic
November 1st and 2nd  2008

Comedy superstar Billy Crystal and 12-time Olympic medalist Dara Torres have been added to the field of the 19th annual Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic, which will be held Nov. 1 and 2 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center in Delray Beach, Fla.

Crystal and Torres, who are both making their first appearances at the event, will
join an impressive collection of stars from the entertainment and sports world for two days of tennis action. Among the stars scheduled to join Chris Evert are tennis greats Jim Courier, Jana Novotna, Lindsay Davenport, Murphy Jensen and Vince Spadea. They will be joined by television stars Scott Foley (“The Unit”), Alan Thicke (“Growing Pains”), Maeve Quinlan (“90210”), comedian and film stars Chevy Chase (“Saturday Night Live”) Jon Lovitz (“Saturday Night Live”), musician Gavin Rossdale, newsman Stone Phillips, tennis journalist and hall of famer Bud Collins and golfing legend Greg Norman. Motown legends The Commodores will perform at the annual Gala, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club.

Billy Crystal is one of the most versatile and popular figures in the entertainment
industry, finding success in front of the camera, as a performer in film and television, and behind the scenes as a writer, director and producer. Crystal broke Broadway's box office records and won the 2006 Tony Award for his autobiographical one-man show, "700 Sundays." He has hosted the Grammy Awards three times and the Oscars eight times.

As the first U.S. swimmer to compete in five Olympic Games, Dara Torres has set three World records and won 12 Olympic medals, including four gold medals during her impressive career. At 41, she won three silver medals at this year’s Beijing Olympics. Outside of swimming, Torres has made a name for herself as a TV commentator and a print model and was the first athlete to appear in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 1994.

Tickets for the 2008 Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic,
held in association with the Broward Health Chris Evert Children’s Hospital and
benefiting the Ounce of Prevention Fund and the Drug Abuse Foundation of Palm Beach County, are currently available through Chris Evert Charities at 561/394-2400. Individual series tickets are $70 and individual single day seats are $20 and $40. Box seats range from $90 to $900. Sponsorships are available at all levels. The tennis competition is scheduled for 11 a.m. on both Saturday, Nov. 1, and Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Delray Beach Tennis Center. Individual tickets and patron packages for the Gala, ranging from 750 to $35,000, are currently available through Chris Evert Charities. A special ticket package, combining the November Chris Evert Pro-Celebrity and the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships, the ATP Tour event held February 23 – March 1 at the same venue, also is available this year. Called the “Delray Beach Double Pack”, the package includes one general admission ticket for both the Saturday and Sunday sessions at the Chris Evert Pro-Celebrity and one general admission ticket for any two sessions held Monday through Thursday at the Delray Beach
International Tennis Championships. The “Delray Beach Double Pack”
sells for $50. Since its inception in 1989, stars from the tennis and entertainment worlds have come to South Florida to raise funds for programs to fight drug abuse and assist neglected and abused children in Florida. To date, the Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity has raised more than $16.8 million.

Official sponsors of the 19th annual Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity
Tennis Classic include Raymond James Financial, Esurance, Clear Channel Radio, Quantum Foundation, Lincoln, 304 Media and the Boca Raton Resort and Club. Others sponsors include Rolex Watch USA, WPTV Channel 5, Marchon Eyewear, The Palm Beach Post, Indulge Special Events & Catering, Swiss International Air Lines, Broward Health, City of Delray Beach, Merle Wood & Associates, Comcast Corporation, Rooms To Go, Hilton Garden Inn, White Stallion Productions, Global Wings, Tavaero Jet Charter, Blue Horizon Jet Charter, Wingedfoot, Celsius, Avitat Boca Raton, JoxSox, Discover Today’s Motorcycling, Universal Weather & Aviation and Nike.
