The Breakers for Hospice Evening 2009.
The evening will feature a champagne
fashion show presented by

unveiling the Spring
collection of Naeem
Kahn. Mrs. Sam Michaels and Mrs. Eugene
Ribakoff are
chairmen of this elegant, black-tie
affair which raises funds for Hospice
programs. Mrs. Leigh
Duemler and
Mrs. George E. Summers are honorary
chairmen.

Beach
resident since 1982, Anita Michaels has
been a member of the board of directors
for Hospice Foundation of Palm Beach
County since 1988. She served as
president of the Hospice Foundation
board from 1990 to 1993 and previously
chaired the Hospice Evening in 1992 and
1993. Mrs. Michaels is also a
supporter of the
Town
of Palm Beach United Way
and the
Hanley
Center,
serving on both organizations’ boards of
directors for numerous years. Mrs.
Michaels has received a number of awards
in recognition of her exceptional
philanthropy including “Outstanding
Volunteer Fund Raiser of Palm Beach
County”; Palm Beach Atlantic’s “Woman
of Distinction”, Palm Beach Chamber of
Commerce “One and Only” award and the
Town of Palm Beach United Way “Alexis de
Tocqueville Distinguished Citizen”
award.

Stephanie Ribakoff
is an avid supporter of many charities,
including the Hospice Foundation of Palm
Beach County, The Jewish Federation of
Palm Beach County, of which she is a
Lion of Judah; and the Jewish Women’s
Foundation, for which she is a Founding
Trustee. Before moving to
Palm
Beach
she was involved with Meals-on-Wheels,
Planned Parenthood, the Jewish Guild for
the Blind,
North
Shore
Hospital
and Henry Street Settlement House.
Hospice is a concept of comfort-oriented
care, devoted to providing services for
those with limited life expectancy. This
palliative care includes addressing
physical, emotional, social and
spiritual needs through a team approach.
Hospice is there to help ensure that
the end stages of a patient's life are
meaningful and peaceful.
