“Our grande dame has reached a ‘certain age’ but with all her
style, charm and grace intact!,” said Chairman Nancy Ellison
Rollnick, who along with Chairman Bill Rollnick, greeted
guests of this year’s 51st International Red Cross Ball held
at Mar-ALago
inPalm Beach.
Bowing to its honored tradition, the 51st International Red
Cross Ball began with a receiving line of ambassadors and
distinguished
guests, dressed in the high-styled glamour of white tie and
tails, medals and tiaras for which the Red Cross Ball is
known. its renowned red carpet procession followed with each
dignitary escorted by a Marine in dress blues.
“We were delighted by the presence and support of our many
distinguished guests at the 51st International Red Cross
Ball and
were especially pleased to reintroduce a new generation of
supporters to the Young Friends Gala,” said Bill Rollnick.
“Nancy
and I, on behalf of the American Red Cross Greater Palm
Beach Area Chapter, are deeply grateful to our generous

guests and are truly proud to have been part of this year’s
successful International Ball.”
Former Ambassador to Denmark Stuart A. Bernstein was named
Chief of Protocol of the 51st International Red Cross Ball,
stepping into the position after Ambassador Marion Smoak who
held the position for over 30 years.
The Rollnicks celebrated the grande dames of the Ball,
Marjorie Merriweather Post and Sue Whitmore. two awards were
given
in their honor, with Lawrence and Florence DeGeorge, Grand
Benefactors Emeriti, and Ambassador Marion Smoak, Honorary
Chief of Protocol Emeritus, as the recipient.
