Episcopal Social
Services (ESS) welcomed distinguished
guests, City and State officials, family, friends
and staff to celebrate another successful year of
providing invaluable programs and services to
New York City’s most
vulnerable citizens.
The ESS Spring
Benefit was held on
Tuesday, May 6, 2008
at the Waldorf
Astoria Hotel. For more than 175 years,
ESS has provided a wealth of services – afterschool,
foster care, programs to reduce recidivism and
services for the developmentally disabled, among
others – that have enabled those they serve to
become healthy, independent and successful members
of their communities.
This
year, the ESS Spring Benefit honored
Bronx Borough
President Adolfo Carrion; Reverend Stephen Chinlund;
Marion and
Roger Gilbert; Diana and
Edmond Nouri; The Rhodebeck Charitable Trust
and William
H. Wright II for their commitment and
leadership.
ESS is a
non-sectarian organization committed to creating
permanent improvement in the lives of children and
adults as they battle the effects of poverty. ESS
also seeks to strengthen New York’s most vulnerable so that they can
live up to their full potential.
