New York, April 23, 2007. Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York
City held their 28th Annual Sidewalks of New York Dinner at
the Waldorf Astoria. The evening honored three
individuals who are role models for the youth helped by the
nation’s first mentoring organization. The agency honored CBS
Corporation President & CEO, Leslie Moonves with
the Sidewalks of NY Achievement in Business Award and the
Sports Award was presented to New York Jets Quarterback, Chad
Pennington. The dinner was chaired by William C. Freda, Vice
Chairman and Regional Managing Partner - Northeast at Deloitte
& Touche USA LLP.
The awards were pr esented to the honorees by two teenagers
and one young woman and their mentors. Both the Bigs and the
Littles prepared their own remarks which made these
presentations quite unique and memorable. The event raised
over $1.8 million dollars for programs to help NYC youth. For
