New York - May 10, 2007. Safe Horizon is the nation’s leading
victim assistance organization and serves over 350,000 people
each year who have been touched by violence. Safe Horizon has
been acting on behalf of individuals, children and families in
crisis for over 25 years. Whether responding to child abuse,
domestic violence, or other violent crimes, they help victims
and their families to heal and rebuild their lives.
This year’s Champion Award was presented to Joann Lang, in
recognition of her commitment to victims of family violence.
For more than 10 years, Safe Horizon’s Lang House has provided
a safe haven for thousands of women and children fleeing
