On Sunday, March 8, 2009, Chef Daniel Boulud will continue his more than decade-long support of Citymeals-on-Wheels as he hosts “Black Truffles, Blue Jeans, Burgundy & Blues,” a casual intimate Sunday supper in the charity’s honor.

A limited number of guests (160) will have the rare opportunity to kick back at the newly renovated DANIEL, recently hailed by The New York Times as “one of New York’s most sumptuous dining experiences,” as the Chef serves up a menu resplendent with black truffles paired with fine Burgundy vintages. Fellow renowned chefs Michel Troisgos of the legendary restaurant Maison Troisgros in Roanne, France and rising star Daniel Humm of New York’s Eleven Madison Park will add their culinary mastery.  The evening will begin with a silent auction and cocktail reception, followed by a seated dinner and live auction.  The evening’s attire will be “Casual Chic” – blue jeans are encouraged.

Individual seats for “Black Truffles, Blue Jeans, Burgundy & Blues” are available at $1,000. “Gourmand” tables for ten are $25,000 and will include premium Burgundy wines.  100% of every ticket and auction sale will support Citymeals and the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals to homebound elderly New Yorkers.  

The connoisseurs’ silent auction will include wonderful wines in rare, large format bottles and numerous gourmet items. A live auction, featuring unique experiences in travel, gourmet dining and fine wines, will also be featured.
