of The National Urban League, Senior Fellow at
the Brookings Institution and current John L.
Weinberg/Goldman Sachs Visiting Professor of
Public and International Affairs
at Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School as he
accepts Urban Tech's Community Leadership
Award. Attendees expected include: JOHN

WHAT: Urban Tech's 2009 Gala
Fundraiser and Awards Dinner honoring
Hugh B. Price for his distinguished career in
education and civil rights. In addition to the
awards ceremony this year's event also includes
a silent auction with
proceeds going to the expansion of the
"Adopt-A-School Program"
offering individuals and corporations the
opportunity to connect with schools and have a
significant impact on the education of our youth
by providing vital technology resources and
education programs.

WHY: Urban Tech's 2009 Gala Dinner
celebrates the work of Hugh B. Price and
showcases the organization's nationwide impact
providing information technology to under-served
communities in order to address the widening gap
between the "information haves" and "information
have-nots." Urban Tech's primary focus
is to promote learning,
academic performance, and workforce
preparation among disadvantaged young people;
and to provide adults with the resources
necessary for long-term employability and
economic security.
