Escaping Their Boundaries: The Children of Theresienstadt.

Children’s
Holocaust art
never before
seen in NYC from
the ghetto of
Theresienstadt
in Czechoslovakia.
During its
existence, more
than 12,000
children passed
through the
Theresienstadt
ghetto. For many
of these
children, the
objects they
created while
there are the
only things that
remain of them.
This exhibit
will explore the
ability for
children to
transcend their
physical
boundaries
through art and
writing,
featuring more
than 40 original
objects on loan
from Beit
Theresienstadt
in Israel,
including
collages,
drawings,
diaries,
magazines, games
and marionettes
produced in the
Theresienstadt
ghetto.
Join us for a
series of
lectures, art
workshops, and
films.
“Escaping Their
Boundaries: The
Children of
Theresienstadt”
opens on
Thursday, March
12, 2009 and
runs through
Friday, June 12,
2009.
Admission to the
Anne Frank
Center Gallery
is $5 for adults
and $3
for students and
seniors.
