Friends, staff and longtime
supporters of Caron Renaissance
recently held a surprise
luncheon at the Boca Raton-based
treatment facility to honor
Petra Levin, chairman of the
annual
Lifesaver Gala. At the
luncheon,
Caron Renaissance Executive
Director Sid Goodman
presented Mrs. Levin with a very
special award for her
outstanding commitment to Caron
Renaissance.
It is my pleasure to present
this well-deserved award to
Petra Levin, said Goodman. The
entire Caron Renaissance family
and I cannot thank her enough
for her unyielding devotion to
Caron and her willingness to
give so much of her herself to
help raise critical scholarship
funds for patients
requiring substance abuse
treatment at our facility. We
are privileged to have
such an incredible supporter
involved in our organization.
An active civic and
community leader, Mrs.
Levin has chaired the annual
Lifesaver Gala for an
unprecedented three consecutive
years, and will, once again,
chair the fourth annual
Lifesaver Gala on Feb. 27, 2009
at The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm
Beach. She is a
Palm Beach resident and
member of Caron Treatment
Center's
Florida Board of Directors.
A former model from Germany,
Mrs. Levin has previously
supported various local
charities including
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,
211/The Center for Information &
Crisis Services, The Simon
Wiesenthal Center and Children’s
Home Society.
I am honored to receive this
prestigious award in recognition
of my work with Caron, said
Levin. In particular, I'm
pleased that my efforts, along
with a dedicated committee, help
ensure that individuals
in our community are able to get
treatment."
Caron is one of the top
nationally recognized non-profit
drug and alcohol residential
treatment centers in the country
offering residential treatment
and outpatient programs for
adults and adolescents, as well
as families affected by the
disease of addiction. Caron
Renaissance is an extended care
facility based in Boca Raton.
Each year, the Lifesaver Gala
raises funds for the Lifesaver
Scholarship Fund at Caron
Renaissance. These funds will
provide scholarships to those in
need of treatment who would
otherwise not have the
opportunity to benefit from the
advanced programming that Caron
provides in the field of
addiction. Under Mrs. Levin's
leadership, more than $1.5
million was raised in 2008 for
the Lifesaver Scholarship Fund,
including a remarkable $1
million donation from the
Scaife Family Foundation.
Now in its sixth decade of
providing quality treatment
services, Caron offers a full
spectrum of residential
treatment and outpatient
programs with a network of
facilities in
Philadelphia and
Wernersville, Pa.; New
York City;
Bermuda and Renaissance
in Boca Raton.
