The
Historic House Trust of New York City,
a nonprofit partner to the
New York
City Department of Parks &
Recreation
that seeks to preserve and
promote historic properties in parks
across the city, marked the beginning of
a yearlong 20th anniversary
celebration at its eighth annual
Founders Award Dinner on
Thursday, June 12th.
The gala event took place
under the stars at
Gracie Mansion and featured a cocktail reception,
dinner, and dancing, and a who’s who of New York society, including honorary chair,
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.
In keeping with its mission, the
Historic
House
Trust
honored Benjamin Moore for the company’s
continued commitment to historic
preservation. Denis Abrams, Benjamin
Moore’s President & Chief Executive
Officer was on hand to accept the award
presented by Mayor Bloomberg. As a
long-time advocate of our nation’s
historic treasures, Benjamin Moore has
contributed to the restoration of
notable homes and sites across the
nation. This dedication has benefited
the historic houses in the Trust’s
collection and, in turn, the more than
700,000 people who visit them annually.
In addition to the Founders Award
Dinner, the Historic House Trust’s 20th
Anniversary will be marked by a year of
events at its historic sites throughout
the city.
