(PALM BEACH,
Fla.) – Caron Renaissance Gala
committee members met recently at a breakfast
reception in the Palm Beach home of gala
chairwoman Petra Levin. The poolside setting
overlooking the Intracoastal was the perfect
backdrop to discuss plans for the fourth annual
event. The black tie gala to be held on
February 27, 2009 at The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm
Beach will benefit Caron’s Lifesaver Scholarship
fund, providing critical scholarship dollars for
patients requiring substance abuse treatment at
the Boca Raton-based facility.
The Friday evening gala will feature hors
d’oeuvres around the pool, followed by dinner in
the Grand Ballroom and dancing to the band
Ariel. A special performance by comedian Mark
Lundholm will keep guests laughing with
his sharp wit and cutting edge humor. And if
guests haven’t had enough, they can enter to win
a chance to take home an exquisite piece of
jewelry from Cartier Palm Beach, with all
proceeds benefiting Caron’s Lifesaver
Scholarship fund.
“It is my pleasure to chair Caron’s
Gala with such an outstanding committee,” said
Levin. “We are all working very hard to make
sure the community knows how important this
cause is. Many people and their families
benefit from the extended care programming that
Caron Renaissance provides in the field of
addiction treatment. The Lifesaver Scholarship
Fund ensures that qualifying patients receive
much needed treatment and care.”
Caron is one of the top nationally
recognized non-profit drug and alcohol
residential treatment centers in the country
offering residential treatment and outpatient
programs for adults and adolescents, as well as
families affected by the disease of addiction.
The Caron Renaissance facility is opening new
state-of-the-art treatment offices in Boca Raton
in early 2009.
Under Levin’s leadership, more than $1.5 million
was raised in 2008 for the Lifesaver Scholarship
Fund, including a remarkable $1 million donation
from the Scaife Family Foundation.
For the 2009 event, Levin will be joined by
Honorary Chairmen Melania and Donald Trump,
Junior Chairman Brandie Herbst, Executive
Chairman Craig Dickmann, and Corporate Chairman
Robert DeForest.
