Friends of the

welcomed more
than 120 people
to “Treasure Map
and Nightcaps”
honoring the
Host Committee
of the 14th
Annual Evening
on Antique Row
at the home of
Virginia Oatley
in West Palm
Beach. The
evening also
included a
reading from
“The Adventures
of Charlie
Pierce: The
American Jungle”
by Historical
Society Chairman
and author
Harvey Oyer III.
The event was
co-chaired by
Aime Dunstan and
Blair Griffin.
Special
“Nightcaps and
Nibbles” were
prepared by Palm
Beach Proper
Vodka, Café
Boulud, Forte
D’Asprinio,
Belle and
Maxwell’s, and
Nicole’s Village
Tavern and were
served to guests
in the home
courtyard area
illuminated by
tiki torches. An
outdoor plasma
screen and
state-of-the-art
sound system
provided by AVA
Home Media
Systems
entertained
guests with a
visual
presentation of
prior Young
Friend’s Events.
Guests were
encouraged to
don “sleepy
time” attire and

Each year the
Young Friends’
kickoff event
introduces young
professionals
and history
lovers to the
Historical
Society of Palm
Beach County and
helps to raise
awareness and
membership in
the Young
Friends’ Host
Committee. The
Host Committee
is the
sponsoring group
of the 14th
Annual Evening
on Antique Row,
March 7th
2009, an event
in which the
shop owners
along Antique
Row in West Palm
Beach open their
stores to
display
beautiful
antiques along
with
refreshments for
all. This
festive evening
culminates with
the Young
Friends’ “After
Party” for the
Host Committee
and sponsors.
Funds raised
from the Evening
on Antique Row
will be used to
support the
educational
programs of the
Historical
Society of Palm
Beach County and
the Richard and
Pat Johnson Palm
Beach County
History Museum.
