Art and music converged at “The Best of Jazz”
concert event held Saturday, April 18 at the
Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club in Boca Raton.
The event was an opportunity for supporters of
the Boca Raton Museum of Art and local art
enthusiasts to enjoy top-notch jazz music in an
elegant setting.
The night’s entertainment was a cabaret-style
concert that featured some of Florida’s top jazz
artists; Bob Hanni on guitar, Don Coffman on
bass, Rick Harris on piano and horn and Danny
Burger on drums. The band was accompanied by
noted jazz vocalist Lisanne Lyons. As an added
treat, Museum trustee and event organizer Ed
Polokoff performed several songs on piano. The
set-list included a mix of modern and classic
numbers, with an engaging sampling of
compositions by some of the most popular jazz
greats.
Proceeds from the concert benefit ongoing
programming at the Museum. Event sponsors were
Ed and Gina Polokoff; Minton, Tuzzo & Scaldini
and Michael Higgens of Morgan Stanley Global
Management Group and Adelaide Van Winkle. Event
co-chairs were Sonya Cremin and Marilyn Freund.
