announced that the fifth annual China
Fashion Gala has been rescheduled as a one-hour
virtual event to be broadcasted globally on Thursday,
July 23, 2020 at 8 p.m. ET.
The annual celebration of Chinese design serves as a platform for Chinese
talent emerging onto the international stage, as well as a
forum for recognizing individuals whose contributions have
helped position China at the forefront of global fashion and
beauty.
China Fashion Gala 2020 will be hosted by Yue-Sai
Kan, co-chair of China Institute and founder and
chairwoman of CBCF.
“These days, everything seems to be upside down, but
China Institute has weathered many storms throughout its
nearly 100 years,” observed Kan. “We believe that it’s
important that the world know China through its culture –
through fashion, music, dance and language. With our friends
from all over, our charity gala ‘One World in Beauty’ will
celebrate beauty in its many delightful and wonderous forms
to deliver a message of inspiration and hope.”
This year’s gala will honor Estée

includes access to a private 30-minute cocktail party via
Zoom with honorees immediately preceding the gala.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit the many diverse
programs of China Institute, the oldest independent,
non-profit organization in America to focus exclusively on
China. Founded in 1926, China Institute serves as a gateway
for Americans to all things China: education, culture, art
and business.
“In the current environment, we need to find moments to
celebrate and share joy,” said James B. Heimowitz, president
of China Institute. “China Fashion Gala is an opportunity to
do just that through the prism of One World in Beauty. I
look forward to gathering virtually for a glamorous,
fun-filled night with all of our friends who are coming
together to stand with China Institute during these
turbulent times.”
To further support the gala, an online silent auction on 32auctions.com
will
open on July 9 and close on July 30.
