-- The holiday season was in full swing as nearly 500 leaders
from the worlds of medicine, philanthropy and business gathered
to honor distinguished cardiologist Dr. Allan Schwartz at the
Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) Annual Pulse of the
City Gala. The festive evening was held on Friday, December 9,
at The Plaza in New York City. Dr. Schwartz, Chief of Cardiology
at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Columbia University Medical Center, was
recognized for his vital role in advancing the understanding and
treatment of cardiovascular disease through his dedication to
patient care, research and education. He was also heralded for
his pioneering work in identifying and preventing risks in
professional athletes.
Among those attending the festive evening to celebrate Dr.
Schwartz were the noted actress Tovah Feldshuh and the former
NBA Commissioner David Stern.

Gregg W. Stone
Dr.
Schwartz is the Harold Ames Hatch Professor of Medicine and
Seymour Milstein Professor of Cardiology (in Medicine), Chief of
Division of Cardiology, Physician-in-Chief at the Vivian and
Seymour Milstein Family Heart Center, and Vice Chair of the
Department of Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia
University Medical Center.
