The Gala,
which was
presented by
Las Vegas
Sands Corp,
raised
$250,000
Best Buddies
International.
Best Buddies
is a vibrant
organization
founded in
1989 by
Anthony
Kennedy
Shriver
to
establish a
global
volunteer
movement
that creates
opportunities
for
one-to-one
friendships,
integrated
employment
and
leadership
development
for people
with
intellectual
and
developmental
disabilities.
The
McInerneys
and
Alina and
Anthony
Kennedy
Shriver
served as
Co-Chairs of
the
French-themed
Gala,
which drew
out many New
York and
Hamptons
notables,
including:

The evening
included a
lively
cocktail
hour; a
gourmet
dinner
featuring
sea bass,
chicken, and
vegetable
lasagna; and
a lively
auction led
by
Benjamin
Doller
of
Sotheby’s,
which
included
fabulous
items such
as tickets
to the
Victoria’s
Secret
Fashion Show,
a week in
beautiful
St. Remy de
Provence,
and an
Azamara
Cruises
European
Voyage.
Highlights
of the
evening
included a
moving
speech by
Buddy
Ambassador
Mollie
Noble,
who received
a standing
ovation
after
discussing
the powerful
impact Best
Buddies has
had on her
life. Her
speech also
encouraged
Gala
guests to
“Sponsor a
Buddy,”
raising
$28,000 for
the
organization’s
annual
Leadership
Conference.
The Stingers
also brought
the crowd to
its feet,
thanks to a
vivacious
performance.
Many Gala
attendees
danced the
night away
to their
party hits,
especially
once Noble
and Shriver
encouraged
everyone to
join them on
the dance
floor.

unreal night
of support
for and
energy
towards our
movement for
the full
inclusion of
all people
with
intellectual
and
developmental
disabilities,”
said
Shriver.
“The
highlight of
the evening
was Mollie
Noble
sharing with
all of us
her
life-long
dreams of
respect and
acceptance.
I'm beyond

for their
unparalleled
generosity
and
kindness.”
