There
were
over
80
galleries
from
35
N.
American
cities
as
well
as
Russia,
Spain,
the
United
Kingdom
and
Korea.
The
ArtHamptons
entrance
was
superb
with
a
striking
8,000
pound
sculpture
by
artist
Hans
van
de
Bovenkamp
which
opened
into
a
10,000
square
foot
Sculpture
Garden
with
other
artists'
pieces.
Of
special
note
was
R. Gurr's
stone
art
which
has
an
ancient
and
yet
a
contemporary
aesthetic.
The
fair
opened
on
Thursday
evening,
July
8,
with
a
preview
party
to
benefit
Long
Island
Reserve,
E.
Hampton.
ArtHampton
is a
dazzling
experience
in
strolling
through
this
magnificent
event,
and
one
discovers
so
many
wondrous
creations.
The
size
of
this
Modular
Museum
is
truly
awesome
and
one
can
only
be
inspired
by
the
organizational
skills
of
Founder
and
Executive
Director,
Richard
Friedman
and
his
fiancee,
Cindy
Lou
Wakefield.
The
New
York
Observer
created
a
special
insert,
Hamptons,
(
www.observer.com/hamptons
)
in
their
July
issue
that
was
most
informative.
I
look
forward
to
ArtAspen,
August
6 -
August
8,
with
its
opening
preview
party
(6/6)
to
benefit
The
Buddy
Program
and
hosted
by
Aspen
Magazine.
One
can
go
to a
Rick
Friedman
art
event
and
know
you'll
be
exposed
to
creative
genius
at
its
zenith.
He
aims
for
"haute
couture"
always.
"All
things
excellent
are
both
difficult
and
rare."
-
Spinoza,
1677
