Southampton,
N.Y.
August
20,
2011.
The
yearly
'Get
Wild'
event
allows
us to
see the
dollars
that The
Evelyn
Alexander
Wildlife
Rescue
Center
raises
in
action.
Rescued
and
rehabilitated
wildlife
and
handlers
are
present
at the
event.
This
year I
had the
pleasure
of
meeting
a feisty
red
tailed
hawk and
an owl,
who I
was told
is the
fiercest
predator
on Long
Island.
I always
look
forward
to
hearing
the
stories
about
the
animals.
This
years
setting
was at a
magnificent
ocean
front
estate.
The
event
chairs
were
Avis
Richards,
Beth
Ostrosky
Stern
and
Marcy
Warren.
The
Center,
formerly
known as
The
Wildlife
Rescue
Center,
honors
the late
Evelyn
Alexander.
The
organization
has
grown
from a
few
friends
to over
1,000
members
and
supporters
in the
past few
years
and is a
not-for-profit
hospital
for wild
animals.

Joni and

Fischer,
Jean
Shafiroff
and
others.
