Jack
Lenor
Larsen’s
celebrated
his
birthday
Saturday
night at
Longhouse

Said the

“extreme
old age
is much
better
than
it’s
cracked
up to
be.”
The
evening
began
with

followed
by a

“Botanical
Shakespeare
Concert”
featuring
period
instruments
and
songs
sighting
the
flowers,
herbs,
and

The
performance
was made
possible
through
the
great
generosity
of John
Githens,
in
memory
of his
late
wife,
the
remarkable
and much
missed
artist
Ingeborg
Ten
Haeff.
Jack
remembered
her
fondly
and
pointed
guests
to “a
great
tree in
her
memory
that
grows in
the
Park.”
Diner
followed
inside
LongHouse
with
paella
and
lobsters.
A
spectacular
chocolate
birthday
cake,
decorated
with
fruits
and
flowers
by
curator
Wendy
Van
Deusen,
crowned
the
evening.
Pianist
Paolo
Bartolani
played
an
impromptu
concert
after
the
meal.
