The Parrish Art Museum's annual Mid-Summer Party |
The Parrish Art Museum's annual Mid-Summer Party is
always one
of the
highlights
of the
social
season
attracting
the
Hamptons
most
prominent
art
collectors,
artists,
socialites,
entertainers,
philanthropists,
and business
leaders and
this year
was no
exception.
In fact,
despite many
attendees
being
disappointed
that this
would be the
"last dance
on Jobs
Lane", the
party was as
hot as ever
thanks to an
energetic
crowd and DJ
Tom Finn who
kept the
dance floor
pumping 'til
the wee
hours. The
partygoers
gave one
last great
hurrah
before the
Parrish, the
oldest
cultural
institution
on the East End, moves to its new Herzog & De Meuron
designed
home in
Watermill.
The event
co-chairs
Debbie
Bancroft,
Carlo
Bronzini
Vender, Etta
Froio,
Dorothy
Lichtenstein,
Michéle
Pesner,
Douglas
Polley,
Frederic M.
Seegal,
Marcia Dunn
Sobel
and
Alexandra
Stanton
warmly
welcomed
guests who
then
strolled
through the
Parrishs
current
exhibition
two
photography
exhibitions
that paid
homage to
its
surroundings
 The
Landmarks of
New York
and Liminal
Ground:
Adam Bartos
Long Island
Photographs
2009-2011.
The
Landmarks of
New York
comprises
ninety
photographs
of
New York
Citys
more than
1,200
landmarks,
accompanied
by
descriptive
and
historical
text.
Liminal
Ground
features
sixteen
photographs
that capture
the
evanescence
of the
everyday.
Then it was
on into the
cocktail
tent where
the
elegantly
be-gowned
and
be-jeweled
ladies
swirled
around with
their
equally
vibrantly
attired
gents,
champagne
flutes in
hand,
greeting old
friends and
making new
ones. The
Mid-Summer
party is
always the
perfect mix
of art world
titans,
entertainers,
fashion
heavyweights,
social
dynamos and
Wall Street
power
players so
the room was
abuzz as a
bee-hive.

included

Presenting
them with
huge white
bouquets,
Sultan said,
We hope
that you
think the
new
Parrish
Art museum is the next great landmark
of
New York.
Following
dinner,
"After 10"
Co-Chairs
Anne
Huntington, Carolina Portago, and
Serena
Stanfill
Tufo
flooded the
room with
the young
set that
came for
abundant
desserts and
equally
abundant
cocktails
under the
gorgeously
styled night
sky
projected

DJ Tom
Finn
pumped up
the volume
and the
close to
1,000
revelers
partied with
abandon. It
was a night
in heaven.
After all,
it was The
last Dance
on
Jobs Lane.
