EASTHAMPTON, NY (July 23, 2010)
The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) celebrated its fifth anniversary at a private cocktail reception at the home of
Jodie and John Eastman

On hand to celebrate the occasion were Alec Baldwin, Lorne Michaels; Jo Carole Lauder; Alan Patricof; Julian Robertson Jr.; Dorothy Lichtenstein; Carl Spielvogel and Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spievogel; Alice Shure; Bette-Ann Gwathmey; Robert A.M. Stern; Katama Eastman; John and Amy Griffin; Lee Eastman; Vanessa Eastman; Dick Oldenburg and many of NYSCF’s scientists and post-doctoral fellows.

Kevin C. Eggan, PhD, NYSCFs Chief Scientific Officer, NYSCF-Druckenmiller Fellow Darja Marolt, PhD, and Susan L. Solomon, NYSCF’s Chief Executive Officer, also gave guests a brief update on the latest developments in stem cell research.

“We’re delighted to mark this milestone among our most generous supporters,” said Ms. Solomon.  “Our scientists and researchers have made enormous strides over the past five years, and we expect to announce significant findings in the future as we explore the potential of stem cells to advance the understanding and treatment of human disease.”

About The New York Stem Cell Foundation:

The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) was founded in 2005 to accelerate cures for debilitating diseases through stem cell research. NYSCF conducts cutting edge research at its own independent laboratory and provides grants to outstanding investigators at other research institutions. NYSCF also invests in the next generation of stem cell researchers through its Post-doctoral Fellowship Program and its Innovator Awards Program, which support exceptionally promising early career scientists doing innovative translational stem cell research. NYSCF plays a vital role in educating both scientists and the public about stem cell research through an active annual program of conferences and symposia. For more information, visit
