My friend is a patron of the Irish
Repertory Theatre, and he invited me to
see Pump
Girl ,
by Abbie
Spallen ,
directed by Nicola
Murphy .
It was interesting.
I went to the Columbus Library to see A
Man For All Seasons, directed by Fred
Zinnemann, 1966, starring Paul
Scofield as Sir Thomas Moore, who
won a Tony on Broadway and an Oscar for
his performance. A wonderful cast of
fine English actors were n the film,
including Wendy
Hiller, Leo McKern, Robert Shaw and Susannah
York. It is a pleasure to watch
a well acted film, with intelligent
dialogue.

The York Theatre Company presented Anything Can Happen in the Theater: The
Musical World of Maury Yeston. music and lyrics by Maury Yeston (photo
below with Producing Artistic Director James Morgan), conceived and
directed by Gerard Alessandrini. A fine five member cast sang and danced
to 23 selections from the Two time Tony winner's many Broadway shows,
accompanied at the piano by Greg Jarrett. We congratulated the cast and
creative team at the opening night party at Lips Restaurant. Among the guests
were Lorna Dallas (photo below), Sally Ann Triplett and KT
Sullivan. It was a delightful evening.
