On Monday (May 7, 2012) at the Lambs Club at 130 W. 44th St.
Patricia Watt, producer of the annual Fred and Adele Astaire
Awards, held the nominating cocktail party at the Lambs'
elegant art deco reception room.
This award event is an annual celebration of the best in
dance on Broadway and Film. Dancers and choreographers
attended and represented every Broadway show with dancers.
Liza Minnelli will attend this June 4 gala at N.Y.U. and
will receive the Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award.
Patricia Watt is the producer and her gala chairs are Alix
Michel and Carolyn Kendall Buchter.
Matthew Broderick, who is in the revival of the Gershwins
musical "Nice Work If You Can Get It", attended and was
nominated for Best Actor in a Musical. Kathleen Marshall,
this Gershwin musicals' director and choreographer, also
attended.
The Astaire Awards will also honor the perfection of Bob
Fosse and Gwen Verdon. Broadway producer, Martin Richards,
will also be honored.
Ava Astaire
McKenzie, the daughter of Fred Astaire, is
co-producing this event with Patricia Watt. The Honorary
Chairs Emeritus are Jacques Azoulay, Countess Luann
DeLesseps and Wendy Federman, and the Benefit Chairs are
Cassandra Seidenfeld Lyster and Sara Johnson Kaplan.
Antonio Vendome, the famous Noho real estate developer and
philanthropist, is sponsoring part of this gala.
Albert Maysles, legendary documentary filmmaker, will present
the Best Dance Documentary Award.
This 30th Fred and Adele Astaire Award Gala will take place
