New York, NY, June 29, 2011
– The Partnership at Drugfree.org welcomes Libby Zimmer as
the organization’s SVP and Director of Development. Zimmer
will play an important role in increasing the nonprofit’s
development capacity and lead the enlistment and cultivation
of individuals directly affected by addiction.
“As the cause leader for parents seeking
guidance and support on drug,
alcohol and addiction
issues facing their families, the
sustainability of this life-changing work is essential at a
time when
federal,
state and local budgets for drug abuse prevention are being
slashed,”
said Steve Pasierb, President and CEO of The Partnership at
Drugfree.org.
“Millions of children need help and millions
of
parents are struggling to find it. With Libby’s deep
experience and passion for our issue, she will lead us in
what can be our most exciting and dynamic donor growth in
decades, strengthening our base and allowing us to further
expand our resources and direct services to meet the needs
of the parents and children we exist to serve.”
“I am honored to become a part of this exceptional
organization,” says Zimmer. “Known worldwide for its history
of affecting change for families, I look forward to working
with the entire team at The Partnership at Drugfree.org in
building strategies that allow us to cultivate lifelong
donors.”
Zimmer has a long history working in the nonprofit and
philanthropy sectors. Her most recent post was with The
Maurer Foundation for Breast Health Education, where she
developed the foundation’s fundraising portfolio with
high-profile partnerships. Prior to working at The Maurer
Foundation, Zimmer served as National Director for
Foundation Relations at The March of Dimes, an organization
dedicated to improving infant health through education. She
also held the position of Executive Director for the St.
Charles Foundation, a nonprofit philanthropic corporation
supporting the St. Charles Hospital and as President and CEO
for St. Mary's Foundation for Children, where she was
recruited to establish a philanthropic foundation for St.
Mary's Healthcare System for Children.
Zimmer has a BA from the University of St. Thomas in
Houston, Texas and a MBA from the New York Institute of
Technology. She has also served as a Member of the Board of
Directors for Port Washington Children’s Activity Center,
the National Center for Nonprofit Boards, the Association of
Fundraising Professionals and the Association for Healthcare
Philanthropy.
