All ticket proceeds and donations
benefited St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a
remarkable institution founded by Danny Thomas, to treat and
prevent devastating pediatric diseases. Most extraordinary
is that no child is turned away because of race, religion,
or inability to pay. Public donations and fundraising events
are integral to sustaining this organization with operating
costs of approx. $1.8M each day. Since it's opening in
1962, St. Jude's revolutionary treatments have helped
increase survival rates of certain childhood cancers from
less than 20% to over 80%.
