HOSPICE OF PALM BEACH
COUNTY
FOUNDATION'S ANNUAL CARS
OF DREAMS SHOW A HIT
Event Attracted More Than 5,000 Fans
From Around the Country
North
Palm Beach, FL - More than five thousand South Floridians and
car enthusiasts from around the country
flocked to the
4th Annual South East Rods & Customs
"Cars of Dreams" Car Show and Raffle
at the
Cars of Dreams Museum in
North Palm Beach on Sunday,
March 11, 2012. It was car lovers
paradise with attendees admiring
hundreds of restored classics, vintage
hot rods and new, luxury cars.
The day
also featured entertainment, food,
beverages, and a raffle drawing for a
vintage 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am,
won by Scott
Penny of Lake Worth. John and
Jeanette Staluppi, owners of the Cars of
Dreams Museum, donated the Trans Am as
well as an additional $25,000 to Hospice
of Palm Beach County Foundation.
" We
were honored to once again host this
exceptional event," said Donnie Hancock,
President of South East Rods & Customs
Car Club.
After one of its
members was served by
Hospice
of Palm Beach County, the nonprofit club
made
Hospice
its primary charity. "We had our largest
turnout ever this year and are thrilled
to be able to bring so many people
together to raise dollars for such a
deserving organization."
A
Very Private Evening at the Cars of
Dreams Museum, a special pre-event
preview and cocktail party, was
presented by J.P. Morgan and hosted by
the Staluppi's on Friday, March 9. The
event allowed a select group of guests
to enjoy one of the worlds greatest car
collections up close and personal.
Proceeds from both events benefited
Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation.
" We
were very proud to partner with Hospice
of Palm Beach County Foundation on this
unique event," said Chris Havlicek,
Managing Director at J.P. Morgan. "We
recognize the important role that
Hospice of Palm Beach plays as it cares
for patients and families in our
community, and we are committed to add
our support."
South East Rods &
Customs, the
South Florida
non-profit, classic, street rod and
collectible car club, organized the
annual event and invited fans to
register their rides and compete for
awards.
Entrance to the
car show was free and admission to the
Cars of Dreams Museum was a $10 donation
to Hospice of Palm Beach County
Foundation.
Rarely open to the
public, the
Cars of Dreams Museum
displays 100 classic cars set in a
replica Small Town
USA. The distinctive venue
celebrates the evolution in dream car
design in a comprehensive collection
spanning more than 50 years of
automotive excellence.
Housed in a building larger than a
football field, museum owner John
Staluppi and his wife Jeannette created
period settings for the cars including a
1950s garage, a fire station and town
square all surrounding a hand-carved
carousel. Staluppi opens the museum to
the public only twice a year for charity
events.
