The popular
series CULTURE & COCKTAILS, hosted by the Palm Beach
County Cultural Council, recently attracted more than
120 supporters to Cafe Boulud for the third one-on-one
"Conversation" of the 2011-2012 season:
ALEX: A Conversation with Alexander W. Dreyfoos
The well known entrepreneur, cultural philanthropist and
Oscar® winner was interviewed by Judy Mitchell, the
Chief Executive Officer of the Kravis Center for the
Performing Arts. The far ranging chat covered his early
scientific career, his years as an amateur photographer
and world traveler, and the pivotal role Mr. Dreyfoos
played in developing Palm Beach County as Florida’s
cultural capital.
Among the interested onlookers were Judy Goodman, Ilene
Arons, Milton & Tamar Maltz, Jean Sharf, Bobbi Horwich,
Bruce Beal, Jane Mitchell, Roger Amidon, JoAnne Moeller
and many more.
The next CULTURE & COCKTAILS at Café Boulud will be held
on Monday, February 6. It will be a conversation with
Fashion Designer Yuki Torimaru about Couture, London,
1976-1986. Yuki will be interviewed by art collector
Fred Sharf and curator
Michelle Tolini Finamore of the
Textile & Fashion Arts Department at the
Museum of Fine
Arts in Boston.
All CULTURE &
COCKTAILS events are free for members of the Cultural
Council ($175 level and above). The price for everyone
else is $35 per person with all proceeds going to the
nonprofit Palm Beach County Cultural Council.
Each event runs from 5 to 7 p.m., with registration and
cocktails from 5 to 5:45 p.m., and the “Conversation”
from 5:45 to 7 p.m., including audience Q&A.
Café Boulud serves complimentary beverages and an array
of specially prepared hors' d'oeuvres. Free valet
parking is also available. The world famous restaurant
is located in The Brazilian Court, 301 Australian Avenue
in Palm Beach.
As an added bonus, attendees at all CULTURE & COCKTAILS
events are offered a 20% discount for dinner at Café
Boulud immediately following the Conversation. This
discount is for food only, and does not include drinks,
tax or gratuity.
Because of space limitations, each CULTURE & COCKTAILS
event is limited to 100 RSVPs on a first-come basis.
Interested people can RSVP by calling Mary Dunning at
