PALM BEACH,
Fla. (April
15, 2010)
— Gucci
celebrated
the opening
of its new
store at 150
Worth Avenue
in Palm
Beach with a
private
cocktail
reception,
donating a
portion of
proceeds
from items
sold
throughout
the evening
to the
Greater Palm
Beach Area
Chapter of
the American
Red Cross.
Over 200
American Red
Cross
supporters
and fashion
aficionados
filled the
new space,
mingling
over hors
d’oeuvres,
wine and
pink
raspberry
cocktails as
chic as
Gucci’s 2010

line. The
evening
raised much
needed
funding
for the
non-profit
organization,
which
provides
relief to
victims of
disasters
and helps
people
prevent,
prepare for
and respond
to
emergencies.
The
evening’s
honorees
were Denise
Alexander,
Therese
Mersentes
and Maria
Power, three
philanthropic
women also
known for
their style.
Others in
attendance
included

Gordon,

Casey, CEO

Area Chapter
and Chairman
Michael
Lampert
socialized
with guests
and thanked
them for
their
continued
support.

with
signature
leather
tasseled key
rings and
leather GG
card cases.
The city of
Palm Beach
holds great
historical
significance
to Gucci.
Gucci has
had a local
presence
since 1951,
when its
original
Palm Beach
store first
opened. At
the time,
the Palm
Beach store
was only the
second Gucci
store to
open in the
U.S.,
succeeding
the opening
of the New
York 5th
Avenue
flagship
location.
Palm Beach
is also
uniquely
linked to
the brand
this season,
having
served as
the dramatic
backdrop for
the Gucci
Spring/Summer
2010
worldwide
advertising
campaign,
shot by Mert
Alas and
Marcus
Piggott.
The new
4,528 square
foot store
is located
in the heart
of Palm
Beach at the
150 Worth
Shopping
Complex on
Worth
Avenue,
alongside
other
luxurious
boutiques
and
restaurants.
