West Palm Beach, Opportunity,
Inc. Early Learning Center continued its celebration of its
75th Anniversary of Community Service with a private VIP 75th Committee
Anniversary Appreciation Award Soiree on Wednesday, February
26, 2014, at Surovek Art Gallery, known for its outstanding
collection of 19th and
20th century
American paintings in the heart of Via Piargi, the original
home of the Opportunity shop where the shell pieces, made to
support the charity in the 1930’s were sold.
With perfect star lit weather,
fine company and good friends the evening was relaxing,
enjoyable and enchanting. We are now looking forward to our
grand finale signature Ball on March 28th at
The Breakers. Special thanks to our hosts Jessica & Clay
Surovek for such wonderful hospitality and ambience and to
Meredith Michener, PNC Bank and The Breakers for their
season sponsorships.
Awards were given to Millie &
Eric Levine, Emanuela & Mark Marcello and Tara & Mathias
Gronberg for chairing the Gala, Carole Lembo – Gala Honorary
Chair, Laura Johnston and Lucy Anthony – Luncheon Co-Chairs,
Meredith Michener – Grand Benefactor and Jack Shirreffs - 75th Anniversary
Committee Chair in recognition of their outstanding service
to the organization and the community it serves. The event
was chaired by Peter and Tara Nicoletti, underwriters with
Surovek Art Gallery.
Mr. & Mrs. Mark Marcello, Mr.
Eric Levine and Ms. Millie Dayton, and Mr. & Mrs. Mathias
Gronberg are chairing the upcoming Gala. Carole Lembo is
the Honorary Chair.
Opportunity, Inc. serves low income, working families with
programs designed to “break the cycle” of poverty through a
“Five Star” Early Childhood Education at the Mary Alice
Fortin Center in Westgate. Our mission is to empower
children of low income, working families to achieve future
academic and life success by providing the best early
childhood educational programming and support services, and
by assisting their families with strategies to achieve
self-sufficiency.
The 75th Anniversary Celebration will culminate with a Grand
Gala, featuring the Soul Survivors Band, at the Breakers
Hotel, Palm Beach, on March 28th.
