 The Parrot Heads of the Palm Beaches threw a true “Margaritaville” party in support of Alzheimer’s Community Care that would have made Jimmy Buffet proud.  With music, dancing, drinks, food and raffles there was plenty of fun to go around at the Parrot Heads’ Annual Memory Night held on Saturday, September 25 in Lake Worth.  While fun was the focus, serious fundraising was happening with over $6,000 raised to support Alzheimer’s Community Care’s mission to provide compassionate care to patients and caregivers in our community coping with the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.  The Parrot Heads of the Palm Beaches have held this event in support of Alzheimer’s Community Care annually since 1996 to honor Jimmy Buffet’s dad, diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 1995, and all of the families coping with this disease in our community.

Alzheimer’s Community Care is a Florida based 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1996 and staffed by a team of professionals educated and trained in dementia-specific services.  Alzheimer’s Community Care provides Specialized Adult Day Service Centers, Family Nurse Consultants, 24-hour Alzheimer’s Crisis Line, Support Groups, Case Management, Education, Training, and Advocacy throughout Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties.
