PALM
BEACH,
FL.
(November
18,
2010) –
More
than 220
Rosarian
Academy
parents,
board
members
and
supporters
– all
clad in
chic
island-themed
attire -
attended
the
school’s
32nd
Annual
Auction
and Ball
called
“Party
in
Paradise
–
Changes
in
Latitude,
Changes
in
Attitude.”
The
Jimmy
Buffett-inspired
event,
held
Nov. 13
at The
Breakers
in Palm
Beach,
featured
dinner,
dancing,
and
silent
and live
auctions
that
sold
more
than
1,200
coveted
items.
Nancy
Becerra
and
Donna
White
served
as the
co-chairs
for this
year’s
annual
fundraiser,
and
Jack
and
Cathy
Flagg
were the
honorary
chairs.
“This
was one
of the
most
successful
auctions
in the
school’s
history,
which
speaks
volumes
about
the
overwhelming
support
and
commitment
we have
from the
community,”
said
Virginia
Devine,
principal
of
Rosarian
Academy.
“I
always
look
forward
to this
event –
it’s a
highlight
of my
year,
but this
one was
especially
important
to me in
my new
role as
principal.”
While
enjoying
cheeseburgers
in
paradise
and
mango
margaritas,
guests
bid on
silent
auction
items,
including
a "Night
at the
Stock"
sleepover
for 10
in
Rosarian’s
Lester
N.
Stockard
Athletic
Building
and a
Vespa
Gran
Turismo
scooter,
which
parents
Sean and
Francesca
Kennedy
took
home for
$2,500.
The
excitement
continued
with a
high-energy,
live
auction
led by
Jim
Arrigo.
The
largest
of the
20 items
up for
bid was
a Global
Electric
Motorcar
(GEM)
donated
by the
Arrigo
family.
Mark and
Mary
Frietas
were the
highest
bidders.
Other
winning
bidders
included
prospective
parents
Eliezer
and
Shafali
Hernandez
who won
luxury
box seat
tickets
to the
sold-out
Lady
Gaga
concert.
In step
with
this
year’s
theme,
parents
Deon and
Charline
Curtis
won a
personalized
autographed
CD by
Jimmy
Buffett.
Keller
Lanahan
was the
evening’s
lucky
“Golden
Ticket”
raffle
winner,
giving
her the
opportunity
to pick
any of
the live
auction
items up
for bid.
She went
home
with the
one-week
ski
vacation
in Deer
Valley,
Utah.
