The American Lung Association announces
Chairs and honoree for
9th Annual Jewels of Life Designer Showcase & Fashion Luncheon

Ari Rifkin and Gail Worth

Ari Rifkin and Gail Worth

( West Palm Beach) Gail Worth and Ari Rifkin, chairs of the 2011 Jewels of Life Fashion Luncheon, hosted a kickoff luncheon for their committee at Mar-a-Lago to generate excitement for the Jewels of Life Luncheon, American Lung Association’s prestigious annual fundraiser to be held on February 25, 2011.  Worth and Rifkin are determined to make a difference by raising funds and awareness for lung disease.

As an annual Jewels of Life highlight, the prestigious and coveted 2011 Humanitarian Award will be presented to society leader and philanthropic legend, Lois Pope, President and CEO of the Life Foundation, recognizing her life-long charitable endeavors.  Mrs. Hermé deWyman Miro, President of the International Society of Palm Beach and Humanitarian for 2010, will present the award to her friend and symbolically pass the torch to her successor.  Both Miro and Pope have been constant and committed contributors to the Lung Association’s mission, fostering its programs and services throughout the local community as part of their legacy to the citizens of Palm Beach County.

The organization owes a world of gratitude to Founding Chairman, Suzy Minkoff (Lady Lung), who put the American Lung Association and its Jewels of Life fundraiser on the social map, and will serve as one of the Masters of Ceremonies at the luncheon.

The Association salutes several recent Humanitarians who will attend the Luncheon in February: Norma and Simon Fireman 2005, Suzy Minkoff 2007, Rhoda Chase 2009, and Hermé deWyman Miro 2010.  This esteemed group of philanthropists has given selflessly to their community and all continue to be tireless in their community service.

The American Lung Association will host its annual Jewels of Life luncheon on February 25, 2011, at The Breakers, Palm Beach, with Chairs Gail Worth, and Ari Rifkin leading the event with a sure hand and experienced leadership.
Faith Morford
and Bobbi Shorr have undertaken the role of Auction Chairs.

The organization is proud to reveal that Founding Chair Suzy Minkoff, Honorary International Chair Hermé deWyman Miro, Honorary Fashion Chair Lois Pope, Honorary National Chairs Elizabeth Bowden, and Rhoda & David Chase, and Corporate Chairs Saks Fifth Avenue and Betteridge Jewelers, have lent their prestigious names and financial support to the event.  In addition, the Association is humbled by and thankful for all its generous patrons and sponsors, Michael Alexander (in honor of his mother, Carmen), Elayne Flamm, Connie Frankino, Arlette Gordon, Peter Kelliher, Johanna Klausen, Richard McCready, Jeannine & Lee Morris, Patty Myura for the Eleanor Patterson Reeves Foundation,
Rev. Barbara Nielsen, and Palm Beach Society Magazine
who have shown such confidence in its mission and invested so much in life-saving programs and services throughout Palm Beach County.

The American Lung Association is so thankful for the time and effort that members of the Jewels of Life host committee spend on its behalf and wishes to thank each committee member: Michael Alexander, Lori Berg, Candide Booth, Elizabeth Bowden, Robin Canter,
Rhoda Chase, Johanna Klausen, Ava Coleman, Hermé deWyman Miro, Norma Fireman, Elayne Flamm, Marsha Fontanive, Connie Frankino,
