Palm Beach’s Wildest Night Raised a
Record-Breaking $1.6 Million for the
Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society
Palm Beach, FL-(February 3, 2017) Close
to 500 guests attended the Palm Beach Zoo &
Conservation Society’s annual gala on January 27,
2017 in Palm Beach. Themed, “Tropical Safari,” Palm
Beach’s wildest night included a poolside cocktail
reception where guests came face-to-face with some
of the Zoo’s most fascinating animals, dinner in the
magically transformed Ballroom by Tom Mathieu, and
dancing to the electrifying party-band, the Sultans
of Swing. Whitney Bylin, Lillian Fernandez and
Michele Kessler served as Chairwomen of the Tropical
Safari Gala that raised a record-breaking $1.6
million for the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation
Society. Candy Hamm was Honorary Chairwoman.
Guests of the black-tie gala bid on
exclusive auction items that included a stunning
photograph by David Yarrow, the best-selling
wildlife photographer in the world, Super Bowl
tickets and center courtside seats at Wimbledon.
Guests were also treated to an exclusive debut of On
the Brink: How a Small Zoo is Saving Species on the
Edge of Extinction, a short film created by
Board Member and Event Co-Chair Whitney Bylin, an
accomplished documentary film writer, producer and
director, who secured best-selling author James
Patterson as narrator, and Brian Bayerl as
cinematographer.
This special evening honored Kim K.
Campbell with the 2017 Stewardship Award for her
passion and generosity. Kim's steadfast support
continues to further the Zoo's mission of
conservation and promote its many programs.
