Radio
Host Encourages Supporters to Donate Used, Idle Smart Phones
New
York, NY – (April 27, 2011) – The T.J. Martell Foundation
for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS Research is proud to be
launching a new fundraiser with popular radio host Mike
Malloy. Supporters can now visit
http://tjmf.flipswap.com/
to donate used
or idle smart phones to support the Foundation and reduce
electronic pollution to the environment; the website enables
donors to print free shipping labels to use when sending in
their donation. Over forty smart phones have already been
donated.
Says Foundation President Ron Hartenbaum, “With
so many people upgrading their cell phones, this is an easy
way to support a charity without having to write a check or
attend an event. Everyone’s been affected by cancer, and
we’re offering a free way to help make a difference.”
Adds Malloy, “My listeners are loyal and caring
- I know they’ll want to take this opportunity to help raise
money for cancer and AIDS research.” Mike Malloy is a
nationally syndicated radio host who was one of the original
hosts of Air America Radio.
