Mobile giving has become one of the fastest ways to send monetary relief to those affected by natural disasters where immediate access to funds is critical in the first few days. Through the Mobile Giving Foundation (MGF), your entire donation goes to the recipient charity, and the donation appears as a charge on your carrier bill; standard rates may apply.

Just by texting a keyword to a designated short code via a mobile phone, a micro-donation of $5 or $10 can be made to aid the people affected by this tragedy. MGF works with North American operators to enable a 100% pass-through of funds raised by all the mobile campaigns listed in this alert. MGF partners with several organizations and application service providers (ASPs) such as the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA), Mobile Commons, Zipstripe and myThum to enable these campaigns.
