Bright Lights Foundation Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day at
“The Event 2011”
St. Patrick’s day was indeed quite The Event for
guests who attended the charity benefit located in the heart
of bustling Times Square at Pompeii The Exhibit. Bright
Lights Foundation provides free and discounted tickets to
New York metro area school children to attend the Discovery
Times Square museum. This fall Discovery Times Square will
be featuring the Dead Sea Scrolls. Special guest Dave
Checketts, Chairman of Sports Capital Partners, helped to
kick off the evening with an inspiring message that
reflected upon courage and accomplishment.
Recording artist and Broadway actor Deborah Cox delivered
an electrifying headline performance,
and closed out with her 90’s top dance hit
Nobody’s Supposed to be Here,
which exhilarated the audience.
“Simply spectacular”, said Gary Silverhardt,
CEO of Equilease Financial Services.
The Event 2011 was sponsored by the Ritz-Carlton
Destinations Club whose own Dave Chapman was in attendance
to provide the top prize for guests who competed in the
Mohegan Sun blackjack and craps tournament that took place
on various floors of the three level venue. A special
Italian espresso bar and John Hardy LTD Edition espresso
maker were provided by De’Longhi that helped keep guests
alert late into the evening. “Tonight was absolutely
fabulous”, said Anthony Altamura, a Partner at Hahn & Hessen,
LLP. Alitalia Airways will be sending one lucky player and a
few friends to Italy with free tickets. One winner will
remain closer to home but will be airborne nonetheless
aboard a private helicopter tour of NYC provided by Blue
Star Jets.
The Event 2011 guests were able to enjoy tours of Pompeii
The Exhibit while feasting on sumptuous creations from Chef
Chavez of the midtown Italian eatery Bice. Continuing on the
Italian theme was beer sponsored by Peroni. Emporers vodka
also whipped up special libations for guests. Gary Berger
and his colleague Jeff Kollin from the accounting firm
Rothstein Kass may have summarized the evening best, “Great
fun, food, friends and first class entertainment. It all
added up to a wonderful evening.”
