The 2025 Drama League Awards Luncheon
Celebrates Broadway and the Future of
Directing
On May 16, 2025, the theater community
came together for the annual Drama
League Awards Luncheon, celebrating
the best in Broadway while investing in
the future of American theater. Held at
the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City,
the event welcomed stars, artists, and
supporters for an afternoon of
inspiration, recognition,
and
philanthropy.
Led by Artistic Director Gabriel
Stelian-Shanks, Executive
Director Bevin Ross, and Board
President Bonnie Comley, the
luncheon highlighted the Drama League
Directors Projectthe organization's
signature initiative. Designed to
nurture and launch the careers of
emerging stage directors, the program
has had a transformative impact on the
industry: one-third of all Broadway
productions over the past decade
have been directed by alumni of the
Directors Project.
Proceeds from the Luncheon directly
benefit this initiative, ensuring that
the next generation of directors
continues to receive world-class
mentorship, training, and professional
opportunities.
The Drama League Board of Directors
includes a dedicated group of leaders
from across the arts and business
communities: Elena Araoz, Trish
Chambers, Bonnie Comley, Paula Kaminsky

Estefania Fadul, Irene Gandy,
Sarah Hutton, Una Jackman,
Mary Jain,

With heartfelt thanks to all who
attended and supported the 2025 Drama
