Eirene Hope Liu
outstanding middle school student
Appreciate parents & Friends on her birthday
April 21st marks World Earth Day, a special occasion for every
global citizen to express gratitude. Mother Earth has bestowed
upon us the mountains, rivers, and vast lands that sustain life,
as well as the diverse creatures that coexist with humanity.
As humans, we must cherish this gratitude—toward Earth, the
cradle of human civilization; toward our parents, who gave us
life; toward our teachers, who impart knowledge; toward friends
who accompany our growth; and even toward strangers who quietly
contribute
to our lives.
To honor this spirit, we visited the home of Eirene Hope Liu,an
eighth-grade student at Jericho Junior High School, born on
Earth Day (April 21st) and serving as the Youth Ambassador for
the WHF Youth Leadership Development Organization.
Our goal was to document how an ordinary teenager celebrates
a meaningful birthday.
At Eirene’s 14th birthday gathering, attendees included her
parents, family members, and reporters from our station. The
most heartwarming presence, however, was her friends and
classmates
—a vibrant group of diverse nationalities and skin tones
—who gathered to wholeheartedly celebrate her special day.
The celebration began with Mr. Frank Liu
Eirene’s father, welcoming and thanking the guests. Everyone
then joined Eirene outdoors for commemorative group photos.
Next, Eirene herself expressed gratitude to her parents, teachers,
friends, and the reporters present. The highlight followed as
guests gathered on the lawn to sing Happy Birthday,
share cake, and exchange heartfelt wishes. Amid the relaxed and
joyful atmosphere, group photos captured the warmth of the
occasion. Teachers and classmates also shared their blessings
and reflections on Eirene’s character and leadership.
This birthday celebration transcended personal joy, embodying
the spirit of Earth Day: unity in diversity, gratitude for life,
and a shared hope for the harmonious growth of youth worldwide.
During a birthday celebration, reporters learned that since
entering middle school, Eirene Hope Liu has consistently
maintained an A- or above average in her academic performance.
Beyond her positive attitude toward learning, she also pursues a
range of refined hobbies. A passionate artist and Latin dancer,
she has won multiple awards in international competitions.
For her, dance is both a test of perseverance and a celebration
of youth—where sweat on the practice floor transforms into
graceful movements on stage. Notably, she claimed the All-Around
First Prize
in U.S. Latin Dance competitions in both 2022 and 2024.
In the realm of artistic creation, Eirene’s talents shine
brightly. She earned First Prize and a Special Award at the Long
Island Middle School Art Exhibition, the Creative Excellence
Award in the U.S. division of UNICEF’s International
Environmental Art Exhibition, and an Outstanding Work Award at
the United Nations Biodiversity Painting Competition.
Her artwork was also showcased at the Louvre Art Exhibition
during the Paris Olympics, where she received a Gold Medal.
Recognized for her extraordinary artistic gifts, she was
accepted as the final protégé of Mr. Li Tongxin,
a master of Sino-Western oil painting and mentor to renowned
artist Chen Yifei.
Additionally, her pieces have been featured in the U.S.
Children’s Art Online Exhibition, winning First Prize. Beyond
visual arts.
Eirene was honored with the "Best
Camera Presence Award" at the 2023 New York Story Film Young
Actors Competition, presented by acclaimed TV star Wang Ji.
Inspired by her family’s longstanding commitment to
philanthropy, Eirene has actively engaged in community service
from a young age.
She participated in volunteer initiatives organized by Mayor Adams,
earning an Outstanding Volunteer Service Record Award, and
demonstrated exceptional leadership by mobilizing peers for
forums at the United Nations General Assembly and Women’s
Conference.
Viewing public service as both a duty and a lifelong pursuit of harmony,
her contributions have garnered national and international
acclaim. In January 2024, she received the Outstanding Volunteer
Award from Congresswoman Judy Chu, and in early 2025, she was
honored with the President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award from
the White House, recognizing her dedication to community and
global causes through organizations like the UN and congressiona
l media platforms.
Additionally, she actively participates in international
initiatives to promote world peace. Recently, on behalf of the
World Harmony Foundation, she designed a birthday card as a gift
for the King of Indonesia's birthday celebration, which received
high praise
from the King!
Looking ahead, Eirene Hope Liu plans to pursue higher academic
and artistic ambitions. She aspires to innovate at the
intersection of art, fashion, and artificial intelligence (AI),
leveraging these fields to create impactful solutions that serve
society.
On this special occasion, we extend our warmest wishes to Eirene
for a joyful birthday, continued academic excellence, and the
brightest future ahead! May all young people around the globe
grow up healthy, happy, and empowered to chase their dreams! |
