Pinto Ranch at NorthPark Center hosts Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism Original Artwork Unveiling

Wild at Heart by Melinda Page, Exclusive Event Artist
captured everyone’s heart!

The buzz was all about the original artwork to be unveiled as Pinto Ranch at NorthPark Center hosted a reception for the Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism supporters recently.

Anna Hundley, Executive Director, Autism Treatment Center (ATC) announced this year’s Ball Chairmen, Dee Carter and Sharon Folsom, both are parents of children with autism who are being served at ATC. Ms. Hundley also thanked store manager Suzanne Campbell for her generosity as host and for providing the delicious buffet, complimentary hat shaping, boot shines and donating 10% of all purchases back to the ATC.

The moment finally arrived when Melinda Page, exclusive event artist for Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism, lifted the veils and revealed her newest artwork, Wild at Heart. The artwork depicts three horses running abreast, wild in a field, surrounded by white clouds in blue skies. “I am honored to use my talent as an artist to help improve the lives of those affected by autism,” she said. This is the 16th year Melinda has donated an original painting to the Autism Treatment Center and each year, the painting is auctioned at the Dallas Pegasus Ball to be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Fairmont Dallas hotel.

Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism is one of Texas’ largest fundraisers for autism, benefitting the Autism Treatment Center. The events are kicked-off with a VIP Party in the heart of Fort Worth’s Historical Stockyards on Thursday night September 8, after a full day of Ranch Sorting. Friday night, September 9, the public is invited to experience the excitement of a parade and the thrill of the country’s top cowboys and cowgirls competing in a rodeo at Cowtown Coliseum. Weekend events conclude in Dallas with the black tie Pegasus Ball at the beautiful Fairmont Hotel on Saturday, September 10.

In the fall, golf tournaments in Dallas and San Antonio wind down the year and raise dollars for our outstanding programs and services.

Sponsorships and tickets are available for all of these events. Pegasus Ball tickets, call 972-644-2076 x 106. Table Sponsor (10 seats) $2,000; Individual, $200. BENEFITING: Autism Treatment Centers of Texas - Celebrating Over 35 Years of Service

The Roundup for Autism was founded in 1988 by Bobby Norris in honor of his daughter who has autism. This renowned event is designed to raise funds for the Autism Treatment Centers of Texas (ATC), a private, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) corporation that serves both children and adults with autism, and those who are multi-handicapped. ATC provides its services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Services include diagnostic, research, residential, educational, training, therapeutic, and occupational opportunities. ATC has served the community since 1976.

Autism is the most widely diagnosed developmental disability in the nation, affecting approximately 1 in 110 children; a significant increase over the past 4 years. Autism is more common than the sum of all childhood cancers, muscular dystrophy, juvenile diabetes and cystic fibrosis combined. ATC is striving to meet the needs of these children and to give hope and inspiration to their families by expanding existing and incorporating new services.
